This cocktail is a variation on the Dry Martini, by substituting pepper-flavored vodka for the gin and substituting a jalapeño pepper for the garnish. It is also sometimes known as a Creole Martini.



  1. Combine the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice
  2. Stir well, until chilled
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  4. Garnish with a jalapeño pepper
  5. Serve


  • Add a dash of Tabasco or other Louisiana-style hot sauce
  • Use Italian (sweet) vermouth instead of dry
  • Adjust the amount of vermouth to taste
  • Garnish with an olive stuffed with jalapeño (or other variety) pepper
  • Shaken, not Stirred
