Hemingway Daiquiri

The Hemingway Daiquiri so named because Hemingway drank it regularly at the El Floridita Bar in Havana, Cuba, and is believed to have changed the recipe, this is the original. A double Hemingway Daquiri is known as a Papa Doble and uses four ounces of rum rather than two



  1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice
  2. Shake well to chill
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  4. Serve


There are many variations that are argued to be the daiquiri Hemingway ordered. In one variation you add a 1/4 oz of cane syrup instead of sugar and serve in a collins glass. In others you add 1/4 instead of 1/2 oz of grapefruit juice.
